Statutory damages for unlawful eviction

In the case of London Borough of Lambeth v Loveridge (2013) EWCA Civ 494, the Court of Appeal has decided that the valuation of the statutory damages to which a tenant may be entitled following an unlawful eviction should take account of the vulnerability that the secure tenancy could be converted to an assured tenancy. Please click here to read a short bulletin we have prepared setting out the key parts of the Court’s judgement.
