Tim is an acknowledged expert on social housing law including disrepair, policies and procedures, anti-social behaviour, gas safety and landlord and tenancy disputes, and Senior partner at housing law services, the company which he founded in September 2003 with Julie Allen.
The firm provides advice, support and training to Registered Providers nationally and in London and the South East.
Tim has also served as the Law Society’s Council member for housing and a member of the Law Society’s housing law committee. Tim is also a founding committee member of the Social Housing Law Association (SHLA).
He trains and lectures housing management teams on Social Housing Law and Management issues.
Tim qualified at City of London law firm Waltons & Morse in 1994.

Julie has practised law for over 30 years, specialising in Housing Management. She represents Registered Providers at Courts throughout the Country in wide ranging housing management disputes, including complex disrepair and succession disputes and ASB.
Julie also assists clients in the drafting and implementation of policies internally, and externally with other agencies, working in partnership with her clients. Julie also trains Registered Providers in Housing Management.
Julie is a member of the management team at housing law services along with Tim Crook.

Sophie joined the team in September 2016 and became Business Manager in 2019.
Sophie is a member of the Chartered Management Institute and has a wide range of administrative and management responsibilities, she is also the key organiser of both training and conferences.
Additionally, Sophie handles all general enquiries as and when they come in by telephone or email.

Tara qualified as a solicitor 14 years ago and acts exclusively for Registered Providers providing housing management advice
Tara is experienced in all areas of housing management to include possession, anti social behaviour, contested succession, subletting and social housing fraud
Tara also advises clients on issues of policy and regularly provides training and legal updates to clients.
Tara joined the team in September 2020 following working at a firm in London for 12 years.

Mike has been in practice for over 25 years during which time he has worked in both High Street practices and Law Centres.
Mike has a wealth of Landlord and Tenant experience and has worked as a lawyer providing representation to tenants (of both Private and Social Landlords) across a variety of issues.
Additionally, Mike has also practised in Family Law especially in relation to Domestic Abuse and Private and Public Law Childrens matters.

Emily has worked for housing law services LLP for several years paralegal whilst completing both her Undergraduate Law Degree and Legal Practice Course. Emily joined the firm full time in September 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2019.
Emily has represented clients in the County Court, Magistrates Court and First Tier Tribunal in all aspects of Housing Management Law including ASB, disrepair, succession and income.
Emily regularly attends legal surgeries giving clients advice and assistance and also produces legal bulletins to update clients about key changes within the sector. Emily also trains Registered Providers in Housing Management.
Experience: Joanna is a Consultant solicitor for the firm. Joanna qualified 32 years ago and has extensive experience in non-contentious work. Joanna specialises in non-contentious residential and commercial property law.
Joanna has experience in drafting social housing tenancy agreements and Private Sector Leases and has been involved in providing advice and assistance over issues of funding for supporting people.
Lucy provides general support and assistance to the team and is also responsible for assisting clients with the gas safety process from initial warning letter through to the end of any legal intervention if necessary.
Lucy assists clients with tenancy breach action including warning letters and injunctions, whilst also assisting on anti-social behaviour cases. Lucy is also one of the team dealing with recovery of service charges.
Jasmin provides assistance with general administration duties and is also responsible for assisting clients with the gas safety process from initial warning letter through to the end of any legal intervention if necessary.
Jasmin also offers general support and assistance to the team and deals with the recovery of service charges and tenancy breach action. Jasmin also assists with anti-social behaviour cases.
